About the role

Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Medical Receptionist for Internal Medicine Clinic for Full-time day! The Medical Receptionist is primarily responsible for performing reception, clerical, registration and medical record duties and functioning as the focal communication source for the Internal Medicine Clinic under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager. Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, medical and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional ambulatory patient care delivery. *This is a Monday-Friday position working from 8:30am-4:00pmAs a Medical Receptionist, you will: Patient Reception and Check-In:

Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Verify patient information and update records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Manage appointment schedules and coordinate patient flow efficiently.

Administrative Support:

Handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
Process insurance verifications, collect copayments, and handle billing inquiries.

Documentation and Records Management:

Maintain accurate and organized patient records and appointment logs.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and clinic policies.

Customer Service:

Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and courteously.
Provide information and assistance regarding clinic services, procedures, and policies.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other administrative staff to deliver coordinated patient care.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a related field preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role
