We are searching for a talented and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance department. Our Maintenance Teams are the bones of Crunch Fitness and play a crucial role in providing the best member experience possible!

 

Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. You must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

 

As a Maintenance Technician, you set the foundational stage to our Service Promise of ensuring a clean, friendly, and well-maintained club. Your daily focus is to ensure proper operation of all club areas and equipment, which ensures a safe, outstanding experience for our members. When a member comes in looking for their favorite machine, you'll be the reason it's working.

  • Job Type: Full-time:
    Salary: $50k - $55k per year
  • Schedule: 8-hour shifts
  • Experience: Maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Location: SOUTH BAY (Long Beach, Norwalk, Lakewood, Norwalk, La Mirada)

 

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient reading, writing and basic computer skills (including email).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferred).
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC equipment, carpentry, painting, floor re-finishing, and tile work and other systems.
  • General knowledge of Matrix, Life Fitness, Precor, Freemotion, and Star Trac gym equipment (preferred).
  • General maintenance processes and ordering methods.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and power tools.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in health club maintenance strongly preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation to oversee multiple locations.
  • Have own tools is a plus but can possibly provide for the right candidate.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, emergencies and evenings as needed.
  • Must be well- organized and can prioritize tasks.
  • Frequently moves fitness equipment weighing a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • General ability to climb ladders and operate scissor lifts.
  • General assistance to Operations: walking and climbing stairs

  • Must be able to work in an environment with occasionally high noise levels.
  • Partnering with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to discuss club maintenance needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Procuring repair parts, materials, tools, and equipment. Performing routine preventative maintenance on fitness equipment including upkeep of associated logs and history files.
  • Identifying repair/service needs, and maintaining the maintenance App.
  • Partnering with the GM and AGM to discuss club maintenance needs.
  • Daily duties include lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, remaining in a stationary position (and moving) for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly exposed to pool chemicals, cleaning supplies, and grease/oil from cardiovascular equipment.
  • Maintaining, or overseeing outside service provider maintenance of, the pool/spa/steam/sauna/ plumbing to ensure proper chemical balances, draining, and general servicing repairs.
  • Call vendors for ordering parts, request service needs, obtain bids to repair issues.

 

Certifications:

  • EPA technician certification is preferred.
  • CPO certification is preferred.
  • Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred.
