AIG is seeking a motivated Underwriter to contribute to our industry leading Fronting/Group Captives team. AIG’s strong brand in the market has provided for strong growth and thus the need for underwriting resources. We consistently provide clients with innovative products, use of technology, and a world-class Multinational platform. Our underwriters constantly deliver in an ever-changing marketplace and world. Areas of focus will be around our core coverages; General Liability, Contingent Auto Liability, Foreign Voluntary Workers Compensation, Accident & Health, Property and Kidnap/Ransom.  In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and servicing an existing renewal book with assistance to other team members who will solicit new business opportunities. This role includes constant interaction with top nationwide, regional, local and wholesale brokers and insureds in the Small and Medium Enterprise space all the way to Fortune 500 companies. Through this role, underwriters gain experience in a wide variety of coverages, client industries and specializations.   

How you will create an impact:

•    Onboard new business opportunities and prospective group captive members.
•    Handle 1 medium-sized Group Captive program.
•    Maintain clear and concise underwriting files and perform self-audits for other underwriters.
•    Communicate risk appetite/Captive Solutions Value Proposition to brokers and intermediaries.
•    Work with Associate Underwriter(s) to ensure the account booking and coding are completed in a timely manner.
•    Resolve account-related questions from internal stakeholders and/or clients, brokers, and intermediaries that are within scope or escalate accordingly.
•    Participate in internal/external client meetings and conference calls as necessary.
•    Develop and maintain professional relationships with the producers and captive intermediaries.

What you'll need to succeed:

• 1+ years of relevant professional experience; prior insurance experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferred
• CPCU, ARM, ARe, or other insurance designation preferred
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
• Demonstrated sales, marketing and relationship building experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Highly motivated and results oriented
• Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to meet time-sensitive deliverables.
• Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain AIG culture.
