Guest Experiences Cashier - Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

The Guest Experiences Cashier collects payments for goods and services and assists visitors in a pleasant manner.

Essential Functions:

1. Handles cash transactions in conformity with Park District policies and procedures relating to cash handling.
2. Provides outstanding customer service to all customers and the general public.
3. Operates a computer-based ticketing system to record transactions and issue appropriate change.
4. Receives and resolves visitors’ complaints when possible. Informs supervisor of unresolved complaints.
5. Provides Zoo information to visitors and assists with choosing the best ticket package for their visit.
6. Assists with guest flow when assigned.
7. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
8. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
9. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a cashier preferred.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Pleasant personality and disposition.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
• Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
• Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.

Work Schedule: Flexible work schedule required, must be available weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays.    Work Environment: Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. Position often requires standing for extended periods of time.   Filing Deadline:  Open until filled
