THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re seeking a Board-Certified Sports Medicine/Family Medicine physician, to assist in Utilization Review work which involves evaluating medical records to determine whether healthcare services—such as treatments, procedures, medications, or levels of care—are medically necessary, appropriate, and compliant with established clinical guidelines. Will review documentation, compare it to evidence‑based criteria such as InterQual, MCG, and Medicare policies, and ensure that the care being delivered meets regulatory and health‑plan requirements.
UR work helps verify that patients receive the right care at the right time, prevents unnecessary or duplicative services, supports safe transitions between care settings, and promotes efficient use of healthcare resources.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Remote, work-from-home position—work anywhere in the U.S.
- Covered by MRIoA’s Errors and Omissions policy (not traditional malpractice insurance)
- Independent contractor role (1099 status)
- Work can only be done within the U.S. per regulations
Requirements
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- MD or DO, currently Board Certified in Sports Medicine & Family Medicine
- Minimum 5 years of direct, clinical experience in Family Medicine (including Residency)
- Willingness and availability for daytime peer-to-peer conversations
- Unrestricted, current PENNSYLVANIA medical license.
- Strong computer and online navigation skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (Visa sponsorship is not available)
