We’re looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to join the Client Platform team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

• Help drive the technical vision for performance, reliability & efficiency(PRE) of the Snapchat app for iOS app focussing on customer experience. 

• Implement app wide optimizations & defensive guardrails for key PRE metrics.

• Influence key decisions and tradeoffs on architecture and implementation of client side features.

• Build cutting edge tooling to detect, group and root cause PRE issues at scale.

• Help grow a team of exceptional software engineers and be a strong technical mentor

• Work cross functionally with Data Scientists, PM and TPM partners to identify & execute on high impact PRE efforts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of the OS internals, compilers, optimization for low-power and mobile systems

• Proven understanding of Objective-C/Swift Runtime and processes which run “under the hood”

• Proficiency with multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS

• Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS best practices

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience

• 9+ years of software engineering experience

• Experience with iOS application development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Objective-C and iOS

• Experience with Swift

• Experience with C/C++
