Description

We are looking for a highly capable support professional who can operate at a super high-level LOA capacity, with the technical strength of a Junior Underwriter or strong File Set-Up Specialist. This role is designed to relieve workload from the current processor, who is now supporting multiple Loan Officers and previously handled both LOA duties and pre-approvals.
The ideal candidate is someone who can step in with minimal training, support front-end loan tasks, and ensure files are fully prepped, organized, and review-ready—ultimately improving efficiency for both the Loan Officer and the processing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-level LOA functions, including borrower communication, document collection, and pipeline follow-up.
• Handle complete and accurate file set-up, ensuring all borrower documents and conditions are organized prior to processing.
• Support pre-approval preparation, including data entry, initial reviews, and documentation verification.
• Coordinate with the Loan Officer and processor to ensure smooth handoff and workflow.
• Assist in identifying missing items, clearing basic conditions, and preparing files for underwriting review.
• Maintain communication with borrowers and partners while staying within compliance and communication guidelines.
• Work proactively to free up the processor’s time, allowing them to focus on underwriting and file progression.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Strong background in loan file set-up, LOA support, or Junior Underwriting.
• Experience reviewing income, assets, credit, and documentation at a pre-UW level.
• Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and loan program fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organization, communication, and pipeline management skills.
