The Role
The Healthcare Associate will join the Corporate Credit Research team and focus on new and existing investments across the healthcare industry. These investments will be both liquid and illiquid opportunities across the capital structure spanning from performing loans/bonds to distressed and special situations credit opportunities including select equities. The Associate will work on all stages of the investment process from initial diligence to monitoring and reporting to support PMs across the Apollo Credit platform.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide analytical and project support for all investment related activities including new issues, secondary and portfolio monitoring
- Serve as a point person on the team to conduct exploratory research and perform analytics on potential investment opportunities
- Conduct core research including modeling, quantitative financial analysis, financial and business due diligence, quarterly reporting, and macro trends
- Work with the team to develop investment committee memoranda, materials with senior team members, and ad hoc projects including but not limited to portfolio monitoring, reporting and investor requests
- Partner with Industry Head and the Underwriting team on direct opportunities and risks associated with the healthcare industry
Qualifications & Experience
- 2-5 years of investment banking, capital markets or buy-side experience (i.e. Leveraged Finance, Financial Sponsors, Restructuring or M&A)
- Experience or an interest in the healthcare sector highly preferred
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills in Excel and Power Point are required; SQL and related skills or interest highly preferred
- Strong interest in credit investing
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
