The Vice-President, US Chief Security Officer is responsible for the overall security of personnel, physical assets, property and information in both physical and digital form including Fraud, Cyber, Insider Threat, Information Security and Physical Security while driving operational resilience throughout the CIBC ecosystem.

The role provides assurance to the Senior Vice-President, US Technology, Infrastructure and Innovation, the US Chief Executive Officer and the US Board of Directors that effective security is in place to manage fraud losses and client expectations, meet existing and new regulatory requirements, and enhance our competitive advantage by earning client trust in our products and services. The role coordinates and leads a response capability for serious threats of robbery, cyber and fraud matters, privacy breaches, willful damage, etc., and maintains a relationship with law enforcements globally. Additionally, the leader oversees US security programs dealing with emerging risks including cloud security and fraud monitoring and authentication.

What You’ll be Doing

  • Make strategic recommendations, and sponsoring activities that improves CIBC US security performance, reduces global fraud losses and mitigates incident occurrences.

  • Present to the senior leadership and the US Board of Directors on CIBC US security management, developments in the security landscape and recommendations.

  • Maintain global and local threat horizon and security trend information to underpin CIBC US security strategy and ensure CIBC US internal security control environment is effective in responding to the evolving threat landscape.

  • Proactively monitor investigations on significant external cases and development of potential threats, to lead the US in building resiliency against external threats.

  • Provide leadership oversight on US Fraud modernization to improve CIBC US capability in fraud identification, protection, detection and response.

  • Enhance fraud monitoring and authentication regime required to meet the needs of the new and changing faster payment solutions.

  • Responding to and assisting with the controlled management of crisis situations affecting people, property and information.

  • Assuming overall accountability for CIBC US Physical Equipment and Security Standards.

  • Provide Senior Executive management a regular view of the Information Security Risk Profile recommending areas of focus based on current and emerging threats.

  • Build a comprehensive US operational resilience program, focused on strengthening our bank’s ability to prevent, adapt, respond to, recover and learn from significant operational disruptions.

  • Oversee US Governance Risk Controls for Technology Infrastructure & Innovation.

  • Partner with Fusion, which will serve as a centralized function to gather, process, and analyze data provided by the Fraud, Cyber Security, Corporate Security, Insider Threat and Crisis Management teams at CIBC Globally and coordinate respon
