BASIC FUNCTION:
The purpose of this position is to perform statistical and methodological work, involving considerable responsibility, complexity and variety, including ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of research instruments (e.g., surveys, rubrics), tools, and processes used in academic planning, program review, and development; and to manage quantitative and qualitative research efforts, including instrument design and refinement, data collection, analysis, and preparation of annual and ad hoc reports that inform institutional decision-making and policy development. The employee will handle multiple tasks and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
The employee will work in the Office of the Provost and be responsive to administration and coordination needs of the unit. This position will report to the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and provide support for academic services.
SUPERVISORY
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for providing limited supervision for one or more functions within the department (e.g., may provide guidance to the program manager, academic coordinator, junior analysts, and research assistants) who are responsible for performance of tasks related to implementation of academic review processes for academic and administrative units.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Engages with internal departments and external stakeholders. Collaborates with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to support academic affairs quantitative and qualitative research efforts including academic review.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Plan, develop, administer and coordinate activities to accomplish goals and objectives.
Perform specialized research and analyses, manage data collection and report development, and provide recommendations to the Associate Provost to strengthen and support academic planning, program, and policy development and review efforts.
Manage confidential data to support, e.g., program reviews and institutional planning, ensuring secure storage and appropriate dissemination.
Ensure that goals and objectives specified for projects are accomplished in accordance within priorities, time and funding limitations, or other specifications.
Coordinates interdepartmental activities required for project completion.
Confer with and advise staff and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions related to project goals and activities. Refer unfamiliar issues to appropriate department personnel.
Evaluate effectiveness of research instruments, tools, and processes used in academic planning, program review, and development in order to develop and implement new or improved methods. Devise and implement evaluation methodologies.
Develop and facilitate workshops and meetings with high impact on projects and/or participants.
