Job Title: Subject Matter Expert Public Safety Hazardous Devices/Exercise Coordinator

Athenix Special Missions (ASM) is seeking a SME Public Safety Hazardous Devices/Exercise Coord

Security Clearance: Currently ATF Cleared for ATF Systems Access – Ability to obtain SECRET clearance

Job Summary:

Coordinate all activities in support of the Raven’s Challenge Program Manager and Project Lead for successful accomplishment of the training support services for the Department of Justice Raven’s Challenge exercises conducted at various Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) locations throughout the United States. These exercises are conducted to provide realistic, collective training experience for Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED), military Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and Public Safety Bomb Squad (PSBS) Interoperability Exercise/Collective Training Event series.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist with the development of exercise plans and operations. Develop scenarios relevant to exercise execution and coordinate the logistics to support the scenarios and enhancement of realism.
• Develop device designs to support the Program Manager’s exercise guidance and maintain a device menu to support the multi-year training plan.
• Coordinate with EOD/PSBS logistics SME to determine supplies and equipment needed for each scenario and overall site support. Assist in deployment of equipment and supplies to exercise locations as directed.
• Assist with maintenance of bench stock of supplies and movement of logistical train in support of the program.
• Assist with the determining EOD Specialized tools and operational explosives load requirements for exercises.
• Assist with coordination of training sites and observer controllers to ensure compliance Program Manager’s Exercise Guidance and safety requirements.
• Assist with the determining EOD Specialized tools and operational explosives load requirements for exercises.
• Deploy as directed for exercise site surveys and future site coordination.
• Procurement of ODC supplies and equipment as directed.
• Assist with exercise writing, documentation protocols, development of scenarios and Ground Truth documents to endure compliance with HSEEP protocols.
• Support Program Manager at professional conferences, symposiums and other public engagements designed to promote and enhance the program, as directed.
• Perform liaison between Public Safety Bomb Squads and exercise management to insure maximum participation communication.
• Instruct OC and participants in methods and procedures as required.

 

Experience/Education:

• Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance and must be currently ATF Cleared for ATF Systems access.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of the FBI Hazardous Devices School at Redstone Arsenal and have over 15 years of operational Public Safety Bomb Squad experience.
• Two (2) years of experience in assisting in the management of large-scale Public Safety Bomb Squad and Military EOD Exercises
• Two (2) years’ experience in all Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program requirements and completed HSEEP Basic Certification K0146.
• Two (2) years of experience supporting Raven’s Challenge Exercises as an OC or primary staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge relative to the handling of commercial and military explosive as well as security and storage.
• Fully competent in all Microsoft Office Suites.
