We are seeking a Safety, Health, Environmental protection, and Quality (SHEQ) Coordinator to join our Energy Utility team in Orange, CT.

How will you contribute to the team?
- Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control occupational safety health hazards in construction environment.
- Assess Permit conditions within construction certificates and environmental plans implementation.
- along execution phase. Report any deviations and propose solutions to Owner Responsible for field inspections and controls, Quality assessments, safety, and health orientations, and to ensure conformance to the ISO certified Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
- Oversee SHEQ activities to ensure conformance to the ISO certified Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
- Review the SHEQ Plans for adherence to our Contractor Safety Program within the Project Management Plan.
- Responsible for field inspections, safety and health orientations, Quality assessments, and administrative activities.
- Serves as primary intake specialist for all injury and accident reporting.
- Coordinates employee medical support for occupational injury/illness events and monitors cost accuracy and relevance. Coordinates with Human Resources with the necessary information pertaining to employee return-to-work, medical restriction, and other medical circumstances that may impact job performance resulting from occupational events.
- Administers internal incident follow-up and investigation processes to aid in incident prevention efforts.
- Administers information collection and recordkeeping functions associated with all HSE-related incidents. Maintains required incident logs and information. Prepares and distributes various HSE performance reports, including annual OSHA-required incident summaries and alerts.
- Performs special projects and assignments as directed.
- May perform such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2+ years on -site construction safety experience.
- Prior experience supporting substation upgrades, transmission line upgrades, hydro projects, Smart Grids, environmental compliance work, and gas projects is required.
- 2+ years of experience with Six Sigma, Quality Management System standards (i.e.ISO9001, TS-16949, etc.).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Environmental Management System standards (i.e., ISO 14001).
- Completed an OSHA 30 Hour Outreach Construction Course.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
