Job Overview
The Inbound Operations Supervisor leads and develops a team responsible for the efficient receipt, processing, and documentation of inbound inventory. This role focuses on driving employee performance through coaching, training, scheduling, and accountability while fostering a safe, engaged, and high-performing work environment. The Supervisor ensures operational goals are met through effective workforce management, continuous process improvement, and the use of key performance metrics to support productivity, accuracy, and service excellence.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Understands and performs all aspects of the Inbound Operations Department.
- Train new employees and ensure current employees follow proper procedures.
- Ensure all incoming products are received, processed, and documented accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Perform all annual reviews, coaching’s and corrective actions.
- Monitor and approve employee time sheets, time off requests, and schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- All other duties as deemed appropriate to the position.
- Use metrics and KPI’s to streamline processes and inspire team performance.
- Reviews and schedules inbound freights.
- Evaluates the workload and adjusts the hours when necessary (overtime).
- Supervises the distribution, efficiency and utilizations of the daily workload.
- Resolves all receiving discrepancies, non-conformance and handling of merchandise per policy.
- Ensures that all associates are trained and compliant to carry out their assigned duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- SAP, Blue Yonder, or a related ERP system skill preferred.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective communication and impersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize and balance takes in a highly demanding environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail for high level of accuracy and quality.
- Ability to multitask.
- Use of Stand-Up Forklift, Sit-Down Forklift, Turret Stock Picker, Electric Pallet Jack, Pallet Jack, Computer, Scale, Hand-held Scanner, Wrap & Top Label Application System.
Minimum Requirements:
- Sit Down Forklift, Stand-Up Forklift, TSP certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- High School diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 5+ years in inbound/receiving.
- Availability for overtime and weekend work when needed.
Quality Requirements:
Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance to all FDA and Worldwide Quality & Compliance regulations (As applicable to the job function).
- Must have the education and experience to understand and comply with U.S. and Worldwide medical device regulations (As applicable to your job function).
- Attend all required Quality & Compliance training at the specified interval.
- Adopt the “Beyond Compliance Quality Culture” in the work environment; always meet and exceed requirements.
