Job Summary

Responsible for the strategic direction, leadership, and day to day execution of Construction and Engineering activities for the Heartland Region which spans Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. The Regional Vice President serves as the local Engineering point of contact and leads a high performing team of leaders, construction project managers and specialists, maximizing performance by recruiting, training, and motivating talented leaders and teammates in a diverse and people-focused culture. Manages day to day activities with third party resources. Manages network capacity and construction execution for the region. Participates in formulating and administering Company policies as well as developing long-range goals and objectives in partnership with Region and Division leadership teams. Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results. Partners with Region and Division leadership to create business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage, and differentiation. Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex, unusual, and critical issues. Executes strategic plans to achieve business results. Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in network expansion opportunities. Demonstrates leadership versatility and agility.

Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing and planning the strategy and financial operations of the construction teams by creating budgets, providing strategic operational direction, and ensuring organizational effectiveness.
  • Function as chief technical resource to Regional Senior Vice President regarding construction planning, decision-making, network architecture, and the implementation of new technology-based products and services
  • Support storm restoration and other natural disaster recoveries and events.
  • Partners with the Division on network upgrades and other deployments 
  • Works closely with local Government and utilities on permits and access requirements
  • Partners with the RVP Government Affairs to ensure that service, governmental and franchise demands are met effectively and efficiently through overseeing the organization and planning of staff and equipment.
  • Partners with the RVP of Technical Operations to ensure that maintenance projects are planned and executed to create the best Customer Experience.
  • Partners with RVP Business Development to identify areas for new build.
  • Partners with Finance and Business Operations team to manage capital spend and ensure IRRs are met.
  • Responsible for execution of network expansion, upgrades, and local capacity. 
  • Responsible for development and implementation of a long-term construction and engineering strategy in conjunction with Division and Corporate leadership.
  • Manages third party resources for construction.
  • Monitors compliance with client service standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develops and promotes a customer-driven service culture.
  • Acts as a champion through continued focus on proactively identifying and addressing processes that are impacting network and construction work.
  • Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results.
