Come Grow with Us and Join an Award-Winning Organization! Stearns Bank is looking for a Microsoft Development Team Technical Support Specialist. This is a remote-eligible position headquartered out of St. Cloud, Minnesota. 


JOB SUMMARY:  As a Microsoft Development Team Technical Support Specialist, you’ll be supporting our internal Windows (VB.NET) desktop development team who provides core applications to our business.  You’ll also be exercising your expertise in assisting our Microsoft Office users (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) company-wide as necessary.  As a technical support specialist, you will be the first contact for software support issues, resolving those when you can, or getting as much information up front before passing it to the developers.   Your role as a Business Analyst will facilitate communication between business and development teams.

 

Starting annual salary of $90,000.00. Employment offers will be dependent upon the selected candidate’s relevant qualifications and experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as Business Analyst
    1. Take notes during design review / business process analysis meetings 
    2. Document process flow and change requests from teams
    3. Write up specifications in end-user language
    4. Communicate specifications to development team for logical interpretation
  • Power User Support for Microsoft Office & Standard Desktop Applications
    1. Update and Maintain Excel Macros
    2. Review and fix Excel formulas
    3. Provide integration with Outlook (shared calendars, scheduling)
    4. Experience and knowledge of creating fillable PDFs (Adobe PDF Editor)
    5. Skype and Zoom Support
  • Participate in Pre-Release QA Testing
    1. Provide technical oversite
    2. Contribute to suggestions and resolutions
    3. Document testing steps and give clear feedback on issues

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.  
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical Skills
    1. Must have hands-on and extensive knowledge (certifications) of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    2. Extensive knowledge of working in a Windows 10/11 desktop environment 
    3. Comprehensive understanding of network and application security standards and practices
    4. Hands-on experience as a Business Analyst (gathering specs and managing user expectations)
  • Soft Skills
    1. Ability to listen, hear and see big picture in order to connect the dots
    2. Communicate user requests to development team (describe the process flow)
    3. Communicate programmer questions in "user-speak" to users during development rounds
    4. Draft clear and concise communications for contact person, entire team, company-wide
    5. Pivot from one task to the next with little or no guidance
    6. Enjoy new challenges every day
    7. Effectively work as a team and/or work alone
    8. Complete team and training documentation effectively and in a timely manner
