What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP iXp Intern – Full Stack Engineer - Industries Cloud

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Expected start date to end date: Feb 2024 – Jul 2024

Work Hours: 20-40 hrs/wk 

 

As an ML Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for delivering new product features from concept through completion.  The ideal candidate is has demonstrated experience building modern microservice based applications and enjoys working in a fast-paced startup like environment.  Your role will be central to transforming our team and improving the maturity of our flagship product Intelligent Trade Claims Management.

• Run experiments to evaluate the performance of various ML models

• Develop and enhance existing ML models

• Build online learning capabilities for existing ML models

• Work across multiple Python microservices, building highly scalable distributed systems that continuously deliver value to the customer

• Write clean, testable, high-quality code

• Assume leadership of new projects from concept to deployment, including requirements gathering, refinement, design, development, and deployment

• Ensure code quality, observability, application performance, uptime, and scalability

• Continuously learn best practices and improve our systems

• Collaborate with cross functional team members and be curious and open minded

• Learn and grow alongside of our team!

 

What you bring:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• Prior experience with Python and Flask

• Exposure to various ML models and paradigms such as positive and unsupervised learning (PUL), Decision Tree, KNN, etc.

• Exposure to Data Science, ML Ops, and ML Engineering in a SaaS environment

• Exposure to SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g. Mongo, Elasticsearch)

• Exposure to developing scalable microservice applications and working with cloud-native architectures (e.g. Azure, GCP, AWS)

• Actively pursuing either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Prior DevOps experience with cloud infrastructure and continuous delivery and deployment on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Prior experience with Java or C#

• Experience with frontend development in React / Redux

• Exposure to owning projects from requirements analysis to architecture, design, and implementation.

• Ability to achieve results in a startup-like environment and a fast-paced manner.

• Prior experience with Kafka or other messaging services like RabbitMQ.
