About the Opportunity
SUMMARY
The Research Technician will help further the Spring Laboratory’s photomedicine research via the evaluation of new preclinical cancer models as well as the testing of novel molecular anti-tumor therapies and interactions. Additionally, the Research Technician will assist with cell culture, data analysis and visualization, and laboratory presentations as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with photomedicine research and lab tasks including cell culture and preclinical work
Participates in laboratory management and data collection and analysis
Works closely with participants, graduate students, research technicians, undergraduate research assistants, and other staff members to ensure research protocols are followed
Drafts material for the preparation of presentations and publications.
Assists with ordering supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required in biophysics, biochemistry, or a related discipline with at least 1-2 years of research experience. Master's degree is preferred. An ideal candidate for this position would possess a strong understanding of biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology or related field. Cell culture and microscopy experience is required. Preclinical work/animal handling experience is preferred. Prior experience with flow cytometry and proteomics is a plus.
The research technician should be able to work as part of a team or individually as needed, and should possess strong interpersonal and scientific communication skills.
