Job Summary
The Budget Analyst will have 2 main work streams in ITD’s Strategic Resource Management Division (SRM). The primary responsibility is to support the Department’s administrative budget processes. ITD’s SRM provides strategic guardianship of the departmental resources through integrated financial management. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the execution of key budget activities and processes, as well as providing support to financial management activities and data analysis. The secondary responsibility is to provide administrative coordination support to SRM and in some cases to other areas of ITD.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Budget Support
- Assists with assessment of budget proposals considering the Fund’s overall direction and identified priorities.
- Reviews and approves requisitions to ensure the commitment is properly reflected and aligned with budget in the financial systems. Provides standard and ad-hoc reports for budget discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Reviews data sets, ensuring data integrity and updating financial systems, as needed, for budget preparation, analysis, and review. Contributes to draft sections of budget documents, based on assignment.
- Reviews budget requests and forecast annual budget estimates for selected administrative and capital accounts. Analyzes and monitors expenditure patterns for assigned accounts, drafts summary reports, and recommends revisions to original budget estimates.
- Contributes to quarterly budget reviews with divisions and development of projections, with ownership of discretionary spending budget. Develop reports for departmental management; participates in meetings and contributes to presentations to senior management or other divisions.
- Reviews expenditures trends to evaluate budget performance.
- Liaises with IT stakeholders to consolidate budget requests. Works closely with Budget Officers to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Responsible for other ad-hoc assignments delegated by the Budget Officer and/or Division Chief.
Administrative Coordination
- Assists with first-line technical support to colleagues at all levels within the work unit on Fund systems, office productivity software, and other office automation technologies such as mobile technology and teleconferencing. Guides and follows up with technical support vendors/contacts on behalf of supervisor and/or staff. Assists with expert and vendor administration/on-boarding, off-boarding, provisioning, and financial/budgetary tracking and reporting.
- Organizes meetings, seminars, workshops, and/or conferences, including planning, material production, scheduling, logistical arrangements, and liaising with participants and speakers. Coordinates and publishes internet or IMF intranet postings for the work unit, including country entries.
Minimum Qualifications
University Degree, or equivalent, in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or a minimum of two years of experience at Grade A05).
