Duties and Responsibilities

Research Operations and Data Management

  • Collects and accurately documents research and participant data in accordance with department protocols and timelines, including physical assessments such as blood pressure, weight, height, and skin exams
  • Assists participants with completing surveys, forms, and maintains study calendars and visit schedules.
  • Maintains data integrity and quality by ensuring clear communication of clinical and research information and adherence to documentation standards
  • Supports regulatory compliance by assisting with writing and amending IRB submissions, protocol adherence, and audit preparation; identifies and reports protocol deviations as needed

Participant and Team Engagement

  • Interacts professionally with research participants, addressing questions related to protocols and monitoring progress throughout the study
  • Communicates timely and effectively with all relevant stakeholders in accordance with HIPAA and institutional guidelines, keeping the team informed of study progress and concerns
  • Participates in recruitment and eligibility assessments, and assists with informed consent and participant follow-up

Administrative and Operational Support 

  • Provides administrative support by using relevant software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, REDCap), building surveys, managing inventory and study supplies, and performing equipment testing and troubleshooting
  • Assists in compiling and cleaning data for reporting, grant applications, and analysis; maintains accurate and organized documentation
  • Actively contributes to team meetings, complies with institutional policies, and consistently delivers high quality work while managing multiple tasks and competing priorities in a dynamic research environment

Manuscript and Research Development Support

  • Provides critical review and editorial assistance for manuscripts, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with publication standards
  • Incorporates reviewer feedback into revised manuscripts, addressing commentary to improve quality and meet submission requirements
  • Conducts literature reviews and supports the conceptual development of research projects through background research and synthesis of findings

Education and Certifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.  Years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred

Experience/ Skills:

  • At least 1-2 years of full-time experience is necessary
  • Previous research experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, RedCap and other data analysis tools are preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and maintain quality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong data management and documentation skills with attention to detail preferred
