Raytheon is seeking a Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Software Engineer to develop and support complex HWIL Test Environment software. You will work with weapon system designers to understand requirements, design solutions, integrate, and deploy systems to support tactical software development, testing, and delivery of missiles to the warfighter.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team in an engineering environment.
- Join a software development team in the support of a program. You will develop software interfaces to new hardware components, develop new features and resolve issues in a maturing code base, develop tests for stations as requirements change, present test results and options to leadership, and support the principal test environment users.
- Support the reporting of status metrics from your team.
- Analyze system outputs for correctness and present the results of that analysis.
- Develop and participate in presentations for test reviews.
What You Will Learn:
- Real-time software development in a Unix/Linux environment
- Development and coordination of complex software components distributed across multiple servers working in real-time
- Collection, aggregation, and analysis of multiple data products from the servers
- Development, management, and verification of software system requirements
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Experience with Java, C, C++, and/or similar languages.
- Active and transferrable US government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with agile processes
- Experience with operation, design, development and/or integration of test equipment.
- Strong organization, coordination, teaming skills, as well as written and oral communication skills
- Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of or experience with scripting languages and environments such as Python, Perl, or MATLAB for data analysis purposes
- Experience with a software development toolchain, software development environments, and software development operations (DevOps)
- Existing SSBI clearance
