Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a natural leader and team coach to take this key role and partner to lead Agile Transformation at the team-level. You will lead 5-6 Scrum teams.

Responsibilities for this role includes…

  • Agile Scrum Master Basics:
    • Keep team organized, focused, and moving forward
    • Clear obstacles and protect team from distractions, over-committing, and scope creep
    • Ensure positive team health and mitigate team conflicts
    • Promote organizational understanding of Agile roles and responsibilities
    • Empower team members to engage in value creation, innovation and improvement (Scrum Master – not task master)
    • Capture and drive robust feedback and communication loops across the 5-6 teams
  • Agile Scrum Ceremonies:
    • Facilitate team events and ceremonies -with the team: daily stand-ups, end-of-iteration retros, iteration reviews, sprint demos
    • Work with team and Product Managers to maintain a rich backlog, facilitate estimating, story pointing and holistic decomposition of Features, Spikes and Enablers
    • Construct regular retrospectives, note areas for improvement and take action
    • Administer the scrum board – cards are up to date, backlog is robust, goals are clear…
    • Proactively eliminate blockers and manage roadblocks 
  • Team Leadership:
    • Partner with team members to craft clear charters and working relationships
    • Call out risks and dependencies, mitigate or provide path to resolution where possible, and see through to completion
    • Report regularly on the velocity, progress, health, risks, impediments, or successes of the team
    • Hold regular 1:1s with scrum team members and stakeholders; Facilitate understanding and transparency; Address disagreements
    • Help the team enhance and streamline the ways in which they achieve goals
    • Recognize great work and celebrate successes  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • 8+ years of practicing Agile Scrum Master experience – or equivalent in tech focused industries
  • Good understanding of the ServiceNow platform and modules
  • Scrum Master certification or training
  • Proven success in coaching and mentoring a team through an agile transformation
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Agile, or similar frameworks and techniques: Lean design, iterations, loop feedback with customer involvement

 

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $117,900 - $211,500, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note
