As a Sales Associate, you will support Medtronic’s Surgical Innovations and Acute Care and Monitoring Portfolio products by assisting the sales team in maintaining relationships with customers and supporting sales efforts within an assigned geographic area and/or specific customer accounts in this office-based role.
A Day in the Life
As a Sales Associate, you will play a key support role in driving the success of the Surgical product line by assisting the sales team in the US Acute and Alternate Site marketplace. You will collaborate with Account Managers, Clinical Specialists, Regional Managers, and Directors to help accelerate growth and ensure a positive customer experience. Your responsibilities will focus on providing administrative and operational support, learning solution-based selling techniques, and helping the team achieve sales goals while gaining valuable experience in the field.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Support the sales team in promoting and selling Medtronic's Surgical Innovations portfolio + the Acute Care and Monitoring Portfolio products by assisting with customer outreach and maintaining relationships within an assigned geographic area or specific accounts.
- Contribute to achieving sales goals by assisting with the creation and execution of territory plans and identifying opportunities for business development.
- Learn and understand the features, benefits, and value of Medtronic product lines, and assist in presenting these to clinical and economic stakeholders under the guidance of senior sales team members.
- Assist with preparing proposals, gathering pricing information, and understanding how Medtronic products differentiate in the market.
- Provide support for in-service training and education to clinical and non-clinical contacts by helping demonstrate product applications and functionality.
- Build foundational relationships with clinicians, supply chain partners, and end users by providing excellent support and communication.
- Utilize technology platforms and data to help analyze territory trends and target accounts effectively.
- Assist in managing and updating the sales pipeline using the SFDC platform, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Participate in training to develop knowledge of the current industry landscape, including GPOs, healthcare economics, reimbursement, competitors, and competitive products.
- Provide feedback and support for new market opportunities, product introductions, and existing product improvements.
MUST HAVE - BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 0 - 2 years documented sales success or equivalent experience, preferably tangible products (i.e. office equipment, copiers, payroll systems, IS systems).
NICE TO HAVE - DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of experience in health care sales
- Sales in medical devices, capital equipment sales, surgical sales or in-hospital pharmaceuticals
- Practical knowledge of sales techniques, strategies & relationship building
- Demonstrated ability to work independently & drive results
- Documented sales success, preferably in B2B sales or health care
- Degree in biological science or business preferred
- Business planning skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to teach & educate medical personnel, peers & technical support personnel
- Demonstrated ability to grasp use of technology & applications (ie., iPad, SalesForce.com, SAP); PC literate
