The Senior Director, Communications is an experienced communications professional who will be responsible for leading development and implementation of external communications strategies supporting GRAIL’s strategy and product portfolio. Reporting to the VP, Head of Corporate Communications, the Senior Director, Communications will have the opportunity to help shape the communications strategy designed to define the multi-cancer early detection space, raise awareness of GRAIL among external audiences, and position GRAIL as the leader in early cancer detection.

You will:
- Identify, create and support editorial content to communicate the story of GRAIL, the Galleri multi-cancer early detection blood test and GRAIL’s developing product portfolio, and build positive brand reputation with key external stakeholders
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to support the broader Galleri product brand strategy, including multi-cancer early detection awareness initiatives and data announcements
- Coordinate closely with health systems, employers and insurers to execute communications strategies around new and existing partnerships
- Serve as a media spokesperson; build and maintain relationships with reporters
- Collaborate with and advise senior leaders on thought leadership opportunities
- Oversee GRAIL’s corporate brand strategy and narrative
- Partner with Investor Relations on key business updates and developments
- Maintain expert knowledge of the competitive, scientific, technical, regulatory, and reimbursement landscape
- Lead high-profile issues and crises
- Stay updated on the latest social media strategies and technologies
Your background should include:
- At least 15 years of related experience; Bachelor’s Degree required
- Relevant experience at a PR agency or in-house at a healthcare or biotechnology company preferred
- Consistent track record to develop and implement creative communications strategies and programs
- Expertise in healthcare and biotechnology, with an understanding of the evolving landscape of data science and machine learning
- Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills
- Shown experience utilizing digital and social media platforms to promote company story
- Results-oriented with consistent record for meeting or exceeding goals
- Ability to lead and advise cross-functionally on complex and challenging issues
