Who We Are

HII is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage multiple properties across the country for our Fleet Support Business Unit. This is a full-time position that can be based at our San Diego, CA or Norfolk, VA offices. Frequent travel may be required to other locations.

What You Will Do

  • Reporting to the FS BU President, provide strategic oversight of all facilities to best support our internal and external customers.

  • Provide oversight for facility and capital budgets, while providing strategic oversight on cost status as it relates to facilities.

  • Coordinates the construction, installation or rearrangement of equipment and building facilities and/or equipment and machinery maintenance for assigned areas.

  • Provides oversight of all vehicle and facility maintenance.

  • Maintains contact with and directs contractor representatives and assists in resolving discrepancies in design specifications.

  • Work with facility managers and operations on needs for tools and equipment, including tracking of all PPE.

  • Frequent interaction with Director of Real Estate to coordinate corporate leasing, setting up new facilities, and decommissioning facilities.

  • Verifies labor expended and materials used and inspects projects for conformance to engineering standards and codes, building techniques and safety practices.

  • Analyze current procedures and practices to make strategic recommendations on improvements going forward.

What You Must Have

  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.

  • Must have experience directly related to facility management and operations supporting a government contractor.

  • Knowledge of the practices, policies and regulatory compliance requirements involved in facilities management.

  • The ideal candidate is an individual that can work in a fast-paced environment, self-starter with high attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task with an enthusiastic attitude.

  • Must have experience obtaining vendor quotes and working with multiple vendors on a variety of tasks at the same time. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. 

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.

  • Ability to travel to multiple work sites around the country as needed. 

Bonus Points For...

  • Candidates with an active Secret clearance or above preferred. 

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
