Summary

Examples of duties
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical diploma, apprenticeship credential, or industry certification in HVACR or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated professional experience installing, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting residential and/or light commercial HVACR systems required.
- Working knowledge of HVACR principles and practices, including electricity, heating and cooling systems, refrigeration, heat pumps, air distribution, piping, brazing, system controls, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements, workplace safety practices, hazard recognition, electrical safety, refrigerant handling, and safe jobsite procedures required.
- EPA Section 608 certification required, or ability to obtain certification within a timeframe established by the College.
- Experience with NCCER Core and NCCER HVACR Levels 1 and 2 curricula strongly preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain NCCER Craft Instructor certification and other credentials required by the College or credentialing organization.
- Experience teaching, training, coaching, supervising, or mentoring individuals or groups preferred.
- Ability to clearly teach technical concepts, demonstrate hands-on skills, assess student performance, and provide effective coaching and feedback.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, professionalism, and student success.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use varied instructional methods and basic instructional technology to support student learning and engagement.
- Ability to maintain accurate instructional and program records and complete required documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, College leadership, and industry partners from diverse backgrounds.
- Flexibility, dependability, and willingness to teach courses scheduled during the day, evening, weekend, or at partner locations, as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, and handle or feel objects and controls.
- Must be sufficiently mobile to work in a classroom and/or outdoor environment with vehicles/equipment and students daily.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications
Bossier Parish Community College is seeking a full-time HVACR Instructor to provide high-quality classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction aligned with NCCER HVACR Levels 1 and 2 at the Bossier campus. The instructor will prepare students for successful entry into the HVACR workforce by developing the technical knowledge, practical skills, safety practices, and professional habits required to install, maintain, diagnose, and service residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Instruction will include HVACR safety, trade mathematics, tools and equipment, basic electricity, electrical components and controls, heating and cooling systems, air distribution systems, piping practices, soldering and brazing, refrigerants and oils, leak detection, system evacuation and charging, compressors, metering devices, heat pumps, system installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
