Description:

POSITION PORPOSE

  • Registered Nurse RN position supporting Employee Health Services at Trinity Health Ann Arbor (THAA).

  • Part-Time benefited position scheduled 40 hours bi-weekly (.5 FTE).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • The RN will manage Workers’ Compensation cases to ensure progressive movement of the claim and provide a positive experience for the injured colleague while adhering to work restrictions recommended by the treating doctor and maintaining positive provider relations.

  • The RN will collaborate with the claims team which consists of the TPA Claims Examiner, Defense Attorney, and Trinity Health WC Claims Manager. 

  • The RN is responsible for reviewing incoming incidents through the ClearSight application and determining those that require claim exportation to the TPA.

  • Maintains statistics and records.

  • Prepares reports and discusses trends and issues.

  • This individual partners with ministry leaders, colleagues, and medical staff to implement and sustain safety and reliability structures, processes, and behaviors.

  • This role will use data systems in place such as THEIR (Trinity Health Employee Incident Report).

  • Reviews history, gives immunization; establish necessary lab work, radiology screenings, urine tests, tuberculin screening, etc.

  • Prepares charts for physician including history, lab work results, immunization record update, etc.

  • Updates Occupational Health Managements system as appropriate.

  • Work with Employee Assistance Program and Human Resources with employees who may not be fit for duty related to alcohol, drugs, or other issues. Assist with determining if they are fit to work.

  • Assist employees/SDLs/HR with American Disability Act evaluations as appropriate. Work with Human Resources/Recruitment with this process.

  • Assist employees with Body Fluid Exposures. Nurses will rotate on call for off shifts and weekends. Able to direct employee what to do after body fluid exposure. Appropriate reports filed and blood work follow up.

  • Assist employee with how to report work related injury.

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Michigan Nursing License

  • Graduation from accredited nursing program: Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.
