The opportunity
On the Design Research & Strategy team, our mission is to lay a user-centered foundation for Adobe product design and development. We are seeking a Senior Experience Researcher to drive research from initial, early exploration through to shipping new features/products for Adobe Express.
What we do:
Assess project scope, form appropriate research questions, develop a realistic research plan, identify appropriate research methods (including developing new methods when necessary), run research studies from start to finish, recruit participants, synthesize data into actionable findings, and present findings to a broad range of stakeholders.
Build alliances across the company to identify new partners, drive teamwork, and deeply understand the business context of research problems. We engage with different roles and product teams to understand and influence business goals, system architecture, and product designs.
Advocate for the customer by articulating research findings and product ideas through clear and insightful presentations. We often present work in group-wide or company-wide forums (e.g., brown bags, tech summit, MAX, KTB, etc.).
Who we are looking for:
Must-haves:
Significant hands-on research experience, with at least 5 years of experience in an industry setting (e.g. UX/product research, consulting, etc.)
At least 3 years of experience conducting user research with teams of people in large companies/enterprises.
Experience working with developer communities as the end user, specifically about APIs and extensibility.
Can collaborate well across all project roles (design, research, product management, engineering, sales, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to drive research that informs the develop of new technology.
An undergraduate degree from a 4-year, accredited institution.
Able to handle areas (user/product/domain) that may be ambiguous or ill-defined.
An understanding of the product life cycle and can time research to have maximum impact.
Experience with ethnographic research.
Awareness of UX industry trends, incorporating new research techniques when appropriate.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Don’t just summarize study data but go one step further to identify significant user needs and/or product issues.
Can proactively identify and communicate clear product solutions based on these findings, sometimes across departments.
Experience communicating work at the management, director, and VP levels.
Nice to haves:
An advanced degree in HCI, Human-Centered Design, or a directly related field.
Familiarity with or interest in Adobe’s creative (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Express) and/or Experience (Analytics, AEM, etc,) tools.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $121,800 -- $223,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
