This recruitment is open to Alaska Residents only. Applicants must meet 

Alaska Residency Requirements in order to be considered for employment at this time.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

To provide support for the Palmer Judicial Services Unit of the Department of Public Safety by dispatching Court Service Officers via radio, to calls for service while answering routine and emergency phone calls and providing the day to day support needs of the Control Room.

The Palmer Judicial Services Unit is located in the Palmer Courthouse. The daily work environment consists of a friendly team of like-mided civillian and commisioned staff dedicated to the Alaska State Trooper's mission.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Palmer Judicial Services Unit is looking for an individual who is a self starter and works well individually, as well as a team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas of knowledge, skill, and abilities: 

  • Intermediate Knowledge of computer-based workstations including the Microsoft Office suite of products including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook 

  • Possesses a positive attitude and has experience establishing productive working relationships with team members. 

  • Applicants with the ability to produce consistently high-quality work in an environment with numerous interruptions and rapidly shifting priorities

  • Applicants with the ability to work with confidential and sensitive information

  • Applicants with exceptional critical thinking skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that clearly and concisely communicate the message to be conveyed to a broad spectrum of audiences. 

  • Ability to organize, set priorities, plan, and direct workflow and procedures for assigning work for Court Services Officers.

  • Experience comprehending and interpreting written material and applying rules and instructions.
