Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Professor of Finance (9 Month) position is responsible for teaching in the finance curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate level. The university expects instructional excellence and scholarly output appropriate for a school with AACSB accreditation of its undergraduate and MBA programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws as well as agency and institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Finance or related field. ABDs may be considered if all degree requirements are completed before employment commences.

Preferred Education and/or Experience: 

  •  Teaching experience and publications are desirable.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve on University, College, and Department committees;

  • Teach required courses per semester (fall and spring), of which 2 to 3 may be different courses; classes take place in the mornings, at night (1 night/week), and/or online;

  • During the summers (subject to funding, department’s needs, and availability) all full-time faculty members, including Instructors, may teach an additional two courses for 15% of their 9-month salary, over 5 weeks;

  • Perform research leading to publication in national journals in the areas of instruction, such publications will be considered in yearly evaluations;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Committed to students’ success as indicated by prior teaching experience;

  • Ability to mentor and supervise employees;

  • Committed to remaining current in the area of expertise and/or instruction;

  • Demonstrated teaching ability.
