Principal Engineer ML/AI

You will have amazing opportunities to:

• Prepares design documents, including plans, calculations, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and other contract documents for construction and installation of structural systems at NJ TRANSIT facilities
• Coordinates design work with user groups and interested departments
• Reviews and approves shop drawings, product cut sheets, construction schedules, applications for payment, and other construction submittals
• Conducts construction site inspections as necessary
• Provides recommendations on design issues and field modifications
• Provides oversight of contractor progress and construction methods
• Reviews and approves construction change orders
• Attends meetings and makes project presentations for review and comment by public officials and interested outside parties as necessary
• Coordinates with outside consultant design projects and task order assignments managed by the Design Services Unit
• Prepares Board items and briefings for Executive staff; and prepares, monitors and reviews budget reports, capital funding requests and project schedules
• Performs field inspections and assessments of existing structural conditions and suggests appropriate mitigations

What you will need to be succeed: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• 3+ years of working experience as principle engineer or relevant position in startup environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
