What You’ll Be Doing:

Job Summary:

The Principal IT Project Manager serves a leadership role on the IT Project and Process Services team. This is a dual-role position responsible for managing technology projects from inception to completion and establishing or optimizing business processes for operational consistency and efficiency. The position requires stellar communication skills, is an expert at leading technical projects, and possesses exceptional analysis skills for process optimization initiatives.

You will actively manage stakeholder relationships serving as a key point of contact for the team. You will be expected to independently facilitate scope definition and identification of project roles, milestones and tasks, conduct requirements and design sessions, document requirements, workflow, system configurations, and business processes, testing and validation, and stakeholder training.

This position will work without supervision and will lead, coach, and mentor other project managers; collaborating with the IT team to establish and expand on best practices. You will be assigned critical and complex initiatives as identified by leadership. The ability to work independently with high output and critical thinking will be required to thrive in this role.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as a Project Manager leading and executing complex IT, Governance, and Process related initiatives.

• Serve as a Process Analyst, responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to develop new or improve existing processes.

• Act as a critical thinker with the vision to work both tactically and strategically in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

• Experience and understanding of the requirements and challenges enterprises face with process optimization.

• Energized and passionate about process improvement.

• Support organizational change and adoption by documenting Desktop Procedures, SOPs, communication plans, facilitating meetings with functional users, and other stakeholder communication.

• Participate in or lead other special projects as assigned by IT Leadership.

• Plan, execute, and oversee technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders.

• Monitor project progress and adjust, as necessary.

• Prepare for and facilitate all project meetings. Capture and share notes from meetings.

• Identify, document, and assist in the removal of impediments to project progress.

• Log, track, and follow up on project action items, holding the team accountable for delivery.

• Escalate issues that become blockers to appropriate leadership in a timely manner.

• Conduct risk management and mitigation strategies.

• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new or improve existing processes.

• Diagram business processes using tools such as Miro, Visio, or DrawIO.

• Create Desktop Procedures/SOPs when step by step procedures are needed.

• Prepare any other documentation needed (e.g., request form, playbook, PowerPoint presentation, etc.).

• Develop training materials and conduct training, as necessary. • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices (for example, SOC, SOX, and HiTrust requirements) when defining processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Direct experience supporting technical teams with Business Systems Analysis and Project Management.

• Demonstrated experience with understanding technical concepts and methodologies.

• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.

• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently to support multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
