To help achieve our vision, Maranatha is seeking a Science Lab Technician with a dynamic Christian testimony and passionate commitment to the highest quality of Christian Education. The Lab Technician is responsible for providing technical support to science instructors.

 

STATEMENT OF FAITH

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. 

 

The Lab Tech at Maranatha High school is expected to perform a number of duties in their role including:



Lab preparation, including but not limited to:



Read through and prepare labs for teachers



Set up the lab/classroom


Stay in or near the classroom while lab is in process for technical support.


Dry Run the lab before students arrive


Gather all necessary materials


Buy or order replacements






Clean up after labs/activities:



Gather and wash used glassware promptly


Dispose of chemical solutions following environmentally safe methods


Dispose of chemical waste appropriately, and wash glassware.




Maintain an orderly lab storage facility that adheres to the Fire Marshal’s codes and regulations



Be familiar with school fire codes and safety procedures


Update safety policies




Assist teachers when asked once all other tasks are done and when teacher requests it.

Collaborate, interact and work well with others, including students, parents and guardians, staff, faculty, administration, alumni, vendors and any other personnel involved with the School or education process.


Comply with any duty, obligation, requirement or directive given to Employee by Administration.


Participate on committees and panels as directed by Administration.


Assist in other duties as needed and directed by the Administration. 


Attendance is required at all meetings announced by the Senior Administrator over your department.


Employees must attend church services in accordance with the MHS Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement, and are encouraged to be active in their local churches in addition to regular church attendance.

Interact internally with faculty, staff, and students.


Interact externally with parents, schools, and the community.

Maintain consistently-updated professional development, knowledge and ability to apply the concepts required and skills necessary for the teacher’s assigned courses.
Operate standard classroom equipment; prepare and maintain accurate records; and use pertinent software applications (e.g. myMHS, eTextbooks, iTunes, and, education Apps: Turnitin, Albert.io, G Suite), including any updates or new applications as may be provided.
Perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills as requested or directed in order to meet changing job conditions.
Reasonable care, maintenance and operation of classroom and workroom technology and equipment, to include copy machines, computers, DVD player, television equipment, iPad, etc.
Work as part of a team in a manner designed to foster collaboration and cooperation.
Work with detailed personal or administrative information/data, while maintaining confidentialit
