Hiring Range: $17.625 - $20.716 Hourly


This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 2:30pm; subject to change.

Performs inventory, stocking, and material handling duties for the assigned department or facility. Responsible for receiving, organizing, issuing, and tracking equipment, parts, supplies, and materials. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the stockroom and ensures accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and recordkeeping. Employment is subject to the terms, conditions, and policies detailed in the Personnel Policies Manual (PPM). This position requires regular in-person presence as an essential job function.

Examples of duties

  • Receives, inspects, unpacks, and stocks deliveries of equipment, parts, materials, and supplies; verifies accuracy of shipments and documents discrepancies.
  • Issues equipment, parts, tools, and supplies to personnel using established procedures; logs all outgoing inventory.
  • Maintains stockroom organization and cleanliness; ensures inventory is properly labeled, shelved, and accessible.
  • Assists with daily inventory management, including conducting physical cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Performs basic data entry and uses inventory tracking software and systems.
  • Monitors inventory levels and notifies supervisor when stock needs replenishing; may assist with placing orders.
  • Prepares and stages items for distribution to departments or job sites.
  • Operates warehouse equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified).
  • Assists with unloading large shipments and organizing incoming stock.
  • Provides excellent internal customer service to staff and departments requesting materials or equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory and tracking their checkout and return.
  • Performs general administrative duties as needed.
  • Maintains safe working practices and complies with safety regulations related to handling materials and equipment.
  • May assist with weather-related duties such as snow removal, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required.
 
Supervision Exercised: This classification does not have supervisory authority and requires no supervision or direction of others. 
  
Supervision Received: 
Receives intermittent supervision. This classification normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. Regular direction, guidance, and coaching from supervisor is expected. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of warehouse and inventory processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to safely operate stockroom equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift, hand truck).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County employees, outside vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • One year of experience in stockroom, warehouse, inventory, or related field.
