Responsibilities
This role requires knowledge of the surface mount assembly process as well as other electronics manufacturing techniques and technologies. This job posting may be adjusted for more experienced candidates.
Core Responsibilities:
This candidate will work directly with other engineering staff at Draper to develop, document, implement and improve electronics assembly methodologies. The candidate will work with hourly employees to meet program goals and production milestones. The candidate will be required to communicate with design engineers, external customers and program managers at Draper, as appropriate. The candidate shall comply with Draper policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- US. Citizenship is required
- BS in Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of 13 years of experience in electronics manufacturing using surface mount assembly equipment
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and rework techniques for both surface mount and through hole assembly
- In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art automation and supporting systems
- Ability to develop process routings and generate work instructions
- Advanced understanding of reflow profile development and tooling design including the design and ordering of SMT stencils
- Previous factory automation equipment programming experience
- Strong Microsoft Office / 365 acumen (Excel, Work and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong statistics background, preferably with exposure to JMP or Minitab
- Proficient in computer-aided 3D design software such as SolidWorks or CREO
- Assist in selection and qualification of materials and processes for high reliability applications
- Familiarity with J-STD-001
- Previous experience or exposure to evaluating and qualifying equipment
Security Requirement: Current Top Secret US clearance required which requires proof of US citizenship.
