In the role of Program Manager, you are the focal point for product development projects. You and your team are responsible for delivering all products agreed in the product roadmap.  You will drive the planning, execution and budgeting of programs/projects in the business (HW/SW/SYSTEM). The role requires great communication (internal/partners/customers) and collaboration skills, technical depth and understanding of effective R&D. Both from a ‘balcony view’ and through having attention for the right details.

Effective and predictive execution of innovation and new product introduction is one of the challenges we are facing as a business. In this role you will be instrumental to keep portfolio execution on track, drive improvements and help us to balance development across projects.

 

Your responsibilities

  • You are the single point of contact for a holistic view of several of the product line R&D projects and their interdependencies, with an instrumental role in balancing requirements from marketing with capabilities of R&D and budgets.

  • You contribute to the definition of the product roadmap.

  • In close alignment with R&D leaders you manage planning, budgeting and follow up of product line projects.

  • You manage the critical paths in projects and you pro-actively act on risks.

  • You ensure and verify that projects have the right resourcing and staffing, according to the agreed priorities within the program.

  • You are responsible for keeping R&D funnel up to date, plan and drive gates and gate pipeline (from early innovation until start-of-production)

  • Ensure all programs adhere to agreed hardware and software development processes. Works with BL specialists for best process option for any given project.

  • Drive continuous improvements for more predictable and effective program execution, including root cause analysis and change management following project excursions. (8D, 3x5 why, etc.)

  • Customer facing, supporting Design Wins and matching internal execution with external Tier1 and OEM platforms, securing a smooth launch / start-of-production for HW & SW releases.

  • Ensuring transparency and consistency of NPI/SW/NTI projects via regular reporting and monitoring of KPIs.

  • Supporting adherence to external (automotive) standards and ensuring auditability.

  • Development of program management/project management competence according to PM career path.

Your team

You will report to the head of ADAS System Solutions (Eindhoven based).

Key stakeholders and interfaces are the business/product line R&D leaders for hardware and software, senior project managers, the marketing team, operations team, customer support team, quality team and the product line controller.

 

Your profile

To be successful in this role you are preferred to have:

  • Extensive experience of leading complex silicon & embedded software development projects/programs including RF, mixed signal and digital hardware and development of drivers, firmware, RTOS, middleware, GUI & tools.

  • Strong leaderships skills with a team first mentality. You need to be able to drive the organization forward with well anchored plans that have buy in both from your stakeholders in both the business and R&D parts of the organization.

  • Deep understanding of semiconductor & software development, ideally with R&D experience, with technical depth as to understand interdependencies and manage program risks. Need to be able to dive deep into projects to fully understand status and take corrective actions.

  • Operational experience and understanding of semiconductor development for manufacturing strategies, quality control and compliance.

 

Furthermore, nice to have if you are / have:

  • Strong communicator at all levels. Ability to read the room and act accordingly to drive actions and agreements.

  • Strong people skills and a coaching mindset. Need to be able to guide and coach the team to act with a team first mentality.

  • Experience with partnership management and set-up of eco-systems.

  • Willingness to travel (global).

  • Drives for continuous improvements.
