Playfly Sports is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Berwyn, PA.
The Finance team supports Playfly Sports' various marketing and media divisions, collaborating with all organizational levels to assist with financial operations. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in multiple business divisions, primarily within the company’s Tech division, by executing accounting processes, procedures and financial reporting that supports timely and accurate decision making. This role will focus on general ledger and transactional accounting along with related functions such as treasury in partnership with the corporate finance and field operations teams.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions
- Record bank transactions, deposits, transfers, payments, receipts, and interest
- Establish bank templates for wires and electronic payments
- Create/update monthly team statements
- Capture monthly ticket sales, subscriptions, media, valuation, and consulting revenue
- Review contracts for revenue and expense recognition
- Prepare and maintain revenue schedules
- Participate in department’s goal-setting activities, and month/year-end close processes
- Prepares and record asset, liability, revenue, intercompany, and expense entries for multiple business units by compiling and analyzing account information
- Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
- Hold monthly meetings with business partners
- Analyze A/R aging reports across multiple business units
- Work with accounts receivable and payable departments to ensure invoices and bills are processed
- Post payroll, benefits, and miscellaneous entries
- Complete external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors
- Support and consult company's personnel on accounting control procedures
- Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements
- Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience
- Public accounting experience and/or CPA designation a plus
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures (GAAP)
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
- Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite experience a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment
TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This role is a sedentary role and takes place in a quiet-office setting
- Travel on rare occasions may be required for company-wide events
