MacOS Lead Engineer

We are seeking a Lead System Engineer to join our Enterprise Desktop & Mobility Engineering team.

· This role has built significant technical skill and is beginning to develop leadership skills.

· They may lead a small team or work within a larger team, responsible for a particular body of work.

· This role will be expected to communicate proactively with senior staff about successes, challenges, and requirements.

· When successful, this individual will be leading multiple components of a larger project to completion. is serving as an effective leader of people and work and is managing relationships at multiple levels.

· Owns a single project or component, takes initiative to engage resources from across the company, and is accountable for ensuring delivery all the way through to production environment.

· Capable of dividing work among team members or taking charge of significant components of projects, ensuring end-to- end execution.

· Assesses up and downstream dependencies and collaborates to deliver a portion of code that integrates successfully, ensuring the full body of work is production- ready.

· Tailors audience-appropriate messaging to various stakeholders and clearly articulates risks and blockers.

· Presents technical concepts to wider audiences and contribute to design discussions.

· Identifies technology/methods for driving continuous improvement and shares opportunities to incorporate best practices from other teams.

· Fosters a culture of innovation that encourages balanced results and risk-taking.

· Innovative and effective approach to solve technical problems using a variety of testing, tools, processes, and techniques.

· Takes a holistic approach, considering the broader implications of solutions. Brings teams together to solve problems and facilitate technical problem-solving.

· Collaborate with product owners, user experience designers, and other team members contributing to the product development process, actively participating in discussions, proposing technical solutions, and translating them into working software.

· Mentors team members by providing feedback and seeks to remove blockers and often takes the lead on projects and initiatives.

General Skills:

· 5 – 6 Years of infrastructure engineering experience

· Experience with hands-on technical configurations and implementations.

· Ability to interpret changing technical and Process needs of Product teams and adjust infrastructure and systems capacity to meet those needs.

· Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems.

· Advanced Project Management skills.

· Advanced troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to train junior team members.

· BS degree in a computer related field

· Excellent communications

In this role, you will:

• Lead and manage engineering projects focused on the integration and optimization of Apple devices within the enterprise environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure and security, to ensure seamless compatibility and integration of Apple devices with existing enterprise systems.
• Design, implement, and test solutions for updates to apps and operating systems on Apple devices.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation for Apple device configurations, deployment procedures, and best practices.
• Continuously evaluate and implement new Apple technologies and tools to improve efficiency, security, and overall user experience.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise policies and security standards for Apple devices.

Requirements:

• Strong expertise in macOS, iOS, and Apple hardware.
• Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions and deployment frameworks.
• Proven track record of managing and executing engineering projects, from design to implementation.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a complex environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Jamf 100 & 200 certification required.

Location: Baltimore, MD – Not remote

Salary Range $115K-$125K
