OVERVIEW:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for developing capital plans, analyzing financial results, and developing financial models. As part of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, the Financial Analyst will be a key role in developing the company’s capital plan and forecast. The position works across the Finance team, as well as with various business partners so the ability to collaborate effectively is essential. The analyst will also be involved in various ad hoc projects.
The position requires strong research, problem solving and conceptual thinking, and oral and written communication skills. The workload shifts frequently across job duties. Therefore, flexibility, perseverance, and comfort with ambiguity are requirements for success in this role.
Capital Portfolio Budget, Forecast and Reporting
Create the capital portfolio budget based on project-level spend estimates provided by business partners
Partner with Construction and Real Estate teams to develop capital plans for new, relocation and remodel stores
Partner with Construction to develop weekly reporting of project-level capital spend vs. budget and forecast
Proactively manage capital risks and opportunities via the forecast process
Develop quarterly capital forecast based on inputs from all business partners
Operating Expense Budget, Forecast and Reporting
Partner with the Construction and Real Estate teams to develop annual operating expense budgets
Generate and present monthly overviews of operating expense results to the Construction leadership team
Ad hoc Analysis and Reporting
Assist in developing ad hoc analysis for capital investments and operating expenses
Assist with management reporting in support of our quarterly financial close earnings release
Effectively message via PowerPoint and graphical scorecards/dashboards
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or related business field with 1 – 3 years of specific experience supporting: expense planning, capital planning, forecasting, or investment analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Business acumen, Self-motivated and results oriented, Problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities, Ability to work effectively in a team environment, In-depth analytical skills, Strong detail orientation, Superior organizational abilities and Process and procedure-oriented skills preferred.
