Burson has an immediate opening for an Assistant Account Executive, Public Relations with a specialty in media relations and account management. This is a terrific opportunity to work with very exciting and renown brands.
This job will involve client management, media relations, content development, analyst relations, and social/digital content strategy. We are looking for candidates with excellent written and oral communication skills, client relationship-building skills, and a passion for media relations who can deliver results. This person must be detailed-oriented, resourceful, and able to multi-task and prioritize under deadlines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support day-to-day account activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
- Assist with the development and execution of integrated communications strategies, including media relations, digital marketing, content creation, and social media management.
- Draft and edit press releases, media materials, client reports, and other communications content with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conduct research on healthcare trends, competitive landscapes, and media opportunities to inform strategic recommendations.
- Demonstrate a passion for all things healthcare – being on the pulse of what’s happening in the industry and understanding the implications for our clients
- Monitor media coverage and create press clippings, coverage reports, and performance analytics for client deliverables.
- Coordinate internal team communications, meeting agendas, action items, and timelines to support seamless project management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, participating in calls and meetings, and providing responsive, proactive support.
- Assist with new business development, including researching prospective clients, supporting proposal development, and contributing creative ideas.
- Well-versed in synthesizing information to deliver timely insights
EXPERIENCE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO SUCCESS:
- 1-2 years of experience (including internships) in marketing communications, public relations, or a related field; experience in pharmaceuticals or healthcare is a plus.
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills across a range of mediums (social media, long-form content, media materials/press releases, presentations, messaging etc.)
- Enthusiasm for healthcare and pharmaceutical communications, with a willingness to learn and grow in the industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Experienced with Cision, Microsoft suite of tools, MuckRack, Brandwatch and Google Workspace (a plus).
