Job Description
 

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses

worldwide.

Gilead Sciences is looking to hire a full-time Associate Director for its Corporate Development team to lead strategic partnerships across oncology, virology and inflammation.

Responsibilities

· Oversee and lead execution of corporate development opportunities involving strategic partnerships, investments, licensing, and/or acquisitions.

· Partner with key stakeholders across therapeutic areas, including research clinical, commercial, finance and program strategy leadership to develop business proposals that align with Gilead’s mission and growth strategy

· Develop and maintenance of strong external relationships with potential partners

· Coordinate diligence efforts and scientific reviews for identified opportunities; review opportunities and business cases with Gilead management

· Lead negotiations of term sheets and contracts with identified partners

· Oversee junior members of the corporate development team who will provide support on key transactions

Desirable Skill Sets

· Strong knowledge of drug development and biotech/pharma industry

· Proven track record of leading transactions and strong familiarity with negotiations and the contracting process

· Aptitude for quantitative analysis such as forecasting and valuation work

· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required

· Experience leading cross-functional teams and presenting business cases to executive management

· Passion for science and therapeutic clinical development

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Eight Years’ Experience

OR

PhD and Five Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant experience, including experience in biotech/pharma sector and/or professional services (e.g. consulting, finance, legal, and/or corporate experience in a relevant function)

The salary range for this position is: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
