Clinical Nurse IV - Patient Engagement Center, MyChart
The MyChart Department supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by managing and optimizing the My Duke Health portal, a secure electronic medical record system. This department ensures patients have seamless access to their health information, appointment scheduling, video visits, billing, and non-urgent medical services. Through collaboration with clinical teams and the use of digital tools, the department enhances communication, streamlines workflows, and promotes patient engagement across the continuum of care.

*This position can be remote after the 90-day probationary period if metrics are completed successfully.
Hours: 8am – 5pm
What you will do:
As a Clinical Nurse IV in Duke University Health System, you will plan and provide advanced and specialized nursing care for patients in accordance with guidelines established within the Discipline of Nursing Clinical Ladder Program and established policies and procedures. You will participate in educational activities, departmental committees, research projects, and other health-related initiatives as assigned. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Identify care needs for patient populations across the continuum of care. Collaborate and provide leadership in the development of standards of care, patient/family education and staff education to address the needs of specific populations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and provide leadership with in the delivery of patient care.
- Provide leadership in educational activities, departmental committees, research projects and other health-related projects.
- Provide evaluation, direction and guidance in the proper selection, use, care and control of material resources. Appraise quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and collaborate with appropriate departments to assist with vendor selection and feedback on performance.
- Guide the professional growth of others across the continuum of care through role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring. This may include designing orientation modules, primary precepting of senior nursing students.
- Provide leadership at a departmental, entity, community or regional/national level for initiatives focused on improving the quality of care for populations of patients and growth of others.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
What you will need:
Education
- Work requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN degree. Incumbents in this job classification effective on or before 10/01/2015 who currently hold an Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma may remain in this classification under a "grandfathered" status.
- Transferring to another job classification will require that all minimum qualifications of that job be met and will result in a loss of grandfathering status for this classification.
Experience
- Applicants must meet all requirements set forth by the DUHS Career Ladder Program for the level IV.
