Senior Process Modeling Engineer

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Process Modeling Engineer in Houston, TX to utilize advanced technical knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics to develop real-time and offline process simulators for a variety of industries, including oil and gas and hydrogen transport/distribution.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
Multiple positions available.

100% telecommuting permitted. Candidate may reside and work anywhere in the U.S.
International travel required up to 10%; Domestic travel required up to 5%.

- Collaborate with software development team to support product advancements to meet changing needs in a rapidly evolving industry.
- Lead the configuration, testing, and calibration of Wood’s dynamic multiphase hydraulic software, Virtuoso®, for offline simulation studies, real-time process monitoring and optimization, and leak detection systems.
- Develop models, applications, and solutions using supplied specification and design data with minimal support; recommend changes to design and or configuration to meet requirements.
- Work effectively with the project team to aid the customer to ensure software or studies achieve and exceed objectives within the set schedule and budget.
- Work directly with Wood Intelligent Asset leadership team to drive product growth into new markets.
- Lead acceptance testing and travel to support project execution and maintenance.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience; OR a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
- Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics for evaluating physics-based simulation model results;
- Simulation or design experience in upstream, midstream oil and gas or energy transition applications;
- Leak detection system design, configuration, deployment, and support;
- Real-time software application configuration, deployment & support;
- Software Project Management and Delivery; and
- Leading team of engineers and developers.
