Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

As a Barclays Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be working closely with Securitized Technology and Business stakeholders to understand the business requirements, develop and deliver front-to-back Technology Solutions. You will be part of the broader Securitized Products Trading Technology to build the strategic Trading platform. You will collaborate with the support functions such as Market Risk, Finance, Quantitative Analytics and Operations to deliver the Solutions as agreed with business stakeholders. 

To be successful as a Senior Full Stack Developer, you should:  

• Experience designing and developing Java J2EE based enterprise critical applications

• Experience developing using UI technologies Angular JS, JavaScript and JSON

• Experience with micro services concepts using Kafka

• Experience in spring boot, Rest API & Microservices.

• Experience developing medium to large Applications using different Cloud technologies like AWS, EC2, ECS and CloudWatch

Other highly valued skills include:  

• Experience in No-SQL database like MongoDB

• Good front-to-back understanding and ample analytical & technical stills to deliver the business features

• Finance domain experience / Trading Technology previous experience

• Considerable analytical skills to identify the root cause to provide the solutions

• Working with offshore resources to build solutions
