Traffic Systems Specialist I or II (Utility Service Program Lead)

TxDOT is looking for Traffic Systems Specialist I or II, based in Houston's Traffic Systems Construction Office at 6810 Old Katy Rd. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of our project office construction team. As a Traffic Systems Specialist, you will be dealing daily with a wide variety of construction projects related to Computerized Traffic Management System, Signal Interconnect, Highway Safety Lighting, Traffic Signals, School Zones, etc. within the Houston District area.  As an authorized utility representatives, the Traffic Systems Specialist will be responsible for the monthly management of requested utility accounts and maintaining an active spreadsheet list of requested service requests within the Houston District.  You will attend an on-site visit and/or coordination meeting with service provider, contractor, and TxDOT representatives.  This position requires a great spirit of teamwork and a strong willingness to learn.
