Job Description:

   

The Smart Choice Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales and expanding HPE’s Smart Choice initiative across various GEOs. This role is critical to achieving HPE’s SMB/MM growth objectives and will focus on fostering partnerships, increasing revenue, and identifying new routes to market. HPE's Smart Choice is a new initiative designed to simplify the purchasing experience for small and medium-sized businesses by offering pre-configured, easy-to-order solutions across Compute, Storage, and Services. The program aims to accelerate transactional sales growth and improve channel efficiency, making HPE products more accessible and attractive in the SMB market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a targeted sales strategy to promote Smart Choice adoption among distributors and resellers within assigned GEOs.

  • Lead Management of Change efforts to facilitate the transition to Smart Choice, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and prepared for this transformation.

  • Own and manage the Smart Choice sales playbook, ensuring alignment with growth targets and executing a structured approach to meet and exceed revenue goals.

  • Cultivate and expand relationships with new and existing channel partners to drive sales performance and increase HPE’s market footprint.

  • Educate HPE teams in GEOs, including Channel and Business Unit (BU) teams, to ensure widespread understanding and adoption of Smart Choice, thereby enhancing alignment and maximizing sales effectiveness.

  • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends, optimize strategies, and report on progress toward revenue targets.

  • Understand the competitive landscape in Compute, Storage, and Networking within the SMB space to effectively position HPE’s offerings against competitors.

  • Take full accountability for meeting both Smart Choice and overall Transactional Business quotas, ensuring sales targets are consistently met or exceeded.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree required, MBA is an asset.

  • Native in local language and fluent in English (additional language such as Spanish is considered as a plus)

  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in business development, preferably within the IT solutions industry.

  • Strong understanding of channel sales dynamics, with extensive experience working with resellers and distributors.

  • Demonstrated expertise in e-Commerce RTM, including 3P marketplaces such as Amazon, to support and drive online sales initiatives.

  • In-depth understanding of the competitive landscape in Compute, Storage, and Networking within the SMB space.

  • Proven ability to develop new Routes to Market (RTMs) to effectively expand market reach and capitalize on growth opportunities.

  • Proficiency in at least three languages to effectively engage with diverse regional teams and partners.

  • Highly results-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets and deliver significant growth, particularly in challenging and competitive environments.

  • Excellent forecasting skills, with the ability to ensure accuracy and reliability in sales and budget planning.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across various levels, including presenting effectively to executive and CEO-level stakeholders.

  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building capabilities.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across multiple GEOs and cross-functional teams.
