Pay Range
$325,560 - $414,984 Annually
This is the lowest to highest salary in good faith we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. Job Description
We have an opening for an Associate Program Director (APD) with responsibility for providing the technical leadership and management of the Program Support and Integration (PSI) element of the Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE) program. You will direct a staff of matrix employees to include scientific, technical, and administrative personnel. The APD role will include responsibility for managing and integrating the work of multidisciplinary teams to successfully complete programmatic deliverables with multiple sponsors, and with funding from various NNSA sources (to primarily include NA-122.1, NA-121.2, and NA-121.4). You will be responsible for multiple cross-cutting efforts required to enable success of the broader WTE Program. These efforts include portfolios addressing quality, capability investment and sustainment, material disposition, and computing applications among other portfolios. You will also be responsible for developing integrated programmatic staffing and hiring plans. Organizational reporting for this position will be determined at time of hire. This position will report programmatically to the WTE Program Associate Director.
This position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options, may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.
In this role, you will
- Provide management oversight, technical direction, and leadership for all WTE Program Support and Integration efforts, including its sub-elements and support implementation and execution of project management best practices across the WTE portfolio.
- Ensure, as part of the WTE senior management team, Program Support and Integration portfolios are well integrated and coordinated with those of the broader WTE program and Strategic Deterrence.
- Integrate staffing requirement needs for the broader set of WTE program elements. Work closely with line organizations (divisions and directorates) to develop staffing and hiring plans to support documented programmatic needs. Work with line organizations to identify and execute initiatives to develop and retain programmatic personnel.
- Collaborate with WTE Program management team in formulation of initiatives, budget preparation, and strategic planning. Manage the Program Support and Integration element budget from all NA-122.1, NA-121.2, and NA-121.4 (and other) sources.
- Promote strong customer relationships by meeting commitments and exceeding customer’s expectations with respect to quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness.
- Develop strategic partnerships that are aligned with the NNSA/DOE mission.
- Mentor and coach technical and support staff members.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure safe and efficient operations in all Program Support and Integration activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, the weapon systems that currently comprise the United States active nuclear stockpile and the tools and technologies necessary to support stewardship of the stockpile.
