Kama'aina Kids in Kahului is currently seeking a Prep Cook to help prepare and serve nutritious meals to our small preschool program. Bring your love of children and past experience in childcare, early education, and/or food preparation to our team of kind, caring staff!

This is a part-time position with the opportunity for additional hours if desired.

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 2pm..
The Prep Cook will manage the kitchen at our preschool / childcare center. This includes planning, preparing, help with serving, and recording daily meals.

Positions Available: Prep Cook (We will provide training!)

Essential Job Functions (fundamental cook responsibilities):

  • Handle the responsibilities of cooking and keeping a kitchen
  • Understand and do the math required for figuring the quantity of food to prepare
  • Follow guidelines of USDA Federal Food Program
  • Keep records accurate and up to date
  • Plan meals according to Kama‘aina Kids/HCC Standard Menu and USDA guidelines
  • Prepare meals
  • See that meals are served on time
  • Determine necessary foods to be ordered from the Main Office or appropriate supplier when authorized
  • Attend food service workshops as directed
