Description
The Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University seeks applications for the position of Visiting Professor of Portuguese and/or Lusophone African Literature and Cultural Studies (open rank). The Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The successful candidate will teach one course during the spring semester of 2026.
Qualifications
Candidates should have their Ph.D. in hand by the time of the appointment, documented experience teaching courses in Portuguese and/or Lusophone African literary and/or cultural studies, and a record of academic publications in one or more of these areas. Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese and English is required.
