ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES - HEALTHCARE

Schedule:  Full time; Monday through Friday with rotating weekends.  Must be able to work various shifts including 1st and 2nd shifts with open availabilty between the hours of 6:30am-7:30pm.  More details are available upon interviewing.

Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Environmental Services will assist the Director with managing all EVS operational needs at St. Vincent hospital Kokomo, a 119 bed hospital, particularly by helping the department to achieve established objectives, standards, policies and procedures within federal, state and local regulations.  They will assist with leading, training, and developing a team of about 20 associates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the tasks of the subordinate Supervisory and Management team
• Carries out daily schedules and fulfills all customer needs
• Assists with inspections and evaluates physical condition of facility
• Attends regular staff meetings and communicates with members of other departments to coordinate operation activities
• Carries out major projects, assuring that staff perform their duties and have the essential supplies
• Maintains excellent relations with residents, Client and all community departments
• Additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• 3+ years of management experience
• Environmental services or housekeeping experience preferably in a hospital or healthcare related environment
• Excellent customer services skills and experiences
• Strong work ethic, drive, and initiative for quality and customer service
• Ability to work well in stressful situations and a fast paced environment
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to follow-through
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Contract-managed service experience is desirable
• T-CHEST and/or T-CNACC certifications are a plus
