About the role

The Director, Case Management & Campus Assessment, Response, & Evaluation (CARE) team will lead the College’s non-clinical/administrative case management efforts using a holistic and highly collaborative approach to student health, personal and academic support, and overall well-being. Specifically responsible for addressing the needs of undergraduate and graduate students who may be struggling academically, psychologically, or economically, and/or who may be experiencing health challenges, disciplinary matters, or familial/social issues through a variety of interventions, referrals and follow-up services; as well as performing psychosocial needs assessment, case management, and consultation with academic deans, faculty, health care providers, parents, and colleagues within the Division of Learner Success and Campus Life.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Programmatic and Individual Student Support:

  • Lead the College’s non-clinical/administrative case management efforts in support of students’ health, academic success, personal development, and overall well-being.
  • Ensure an expeditious response to CARE reports to include partnering with reporting parties to facilitate the most efficacious response, formulating intervention plans to minimize and/or resolve problems, connecting students with appropriate resources, and mitigating risk.
  • Respond directly to situations involving students whose behavior or whose physical, mental, or psychological health may be disruptive or harmful to themselves or others in the college community and/or students who may need additional support to be successful at Babson.
  • Collaborate as a team to gather and share information, make recommendations regarding possible interventions, and ensure that appropriate outreach and connections are made for all identified students.
  • Manage the College’s Concussion Care Protocol (CCP), coordinating closely with Health Services, Sports Medicine, Student Advising & Success, Graduate Academic Services, and Accessibility Services to track and monitor students’ progress, recovery, and return to full cognitive activity, pending medical clearance from Health Services or other qualified medical professional, and return-to-play for varsity athletes.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality to the highest extent possible in accordance with FERPA and other privacy laws.
  • Lead departmental, divisional, and College-wide trainings for faculty, staff, and student-leaders on CARE and responding to students-of-concern.
  • Meet with undergraduate students wishing to take a leave of absence from the College to determine reason(s) and what support or resources may be needed. Facilitate reentry meetings as needed. Connect graduate students wishing to take a leave of absence with Graduate Academic Services for program-specific support and guidance.
  • Facilitate provision of reasonable accommodations for students with temporary injuries/illness.
  • Connect students who are experiencing financial hardship with appropriate on- and off-campus resources (Student Financial Services, Professional Attire Fund, Community Meals) as well as designated student emergency funds (Melissa Shaak Student Emergency Fund, Carol Hacker Endowed Student Life Fund, Gerri Randlett Got Your Back Fund). May provide oversight for one or more of these funds and/or collaborate with campus partners on evaluating student applications and rendering decisions regarding awards.
